Head Teacher's Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to you as you visit the Alvechurch CE Middle school web site.
  These pages are intended to be a source of information for parents, students, staff, friends and visitors to the school. I am very proud of our many achievements and invite you to browse through the pages to enable you to get a flavour of our school.
  We are a middle deemed secondary school catering for the 9-13 age range. We have close links with the village Church of St Laurence and various local community groups. We are very fortunate to have been part of the Bromsgrove PFI initiative. This means that we have moved into an exciting brand new school. These new surroundings are spacious, flexible and well equipped. This has given a fresh impetus to our teaching and learning, opening up many new opportunities for our students.
  We were inspected in July 08 and this confirmed our belief that we are an outstanding school in many important areas. Our curriculum is creative and broad, whilst extra curricular activities and visits enhance our pupils’ school experience. Academic achievements in the core subjects are consistently high, placing us in the top 25% of similar schools nationally. In partnership we have recently achieved a Leading Aspect Award for Mathematics. We are fully inclusive and have facilities to meet all our pupils’ needs. Our pupils have excelled in many of the sporting arenas with outstanding success in rugby, having reached the National finals for emerging schools. We have also achieved the Artsmark Gold and other awards. We aspire to offer the best possible learning environment to enable our pupils to achieve the very best that they can and prepare them to make a positive contribution to society beyond school.
